A man has been arrested and at least one more is being hunted in connection with a string of attacks apparently targeting men in Bristol<\/a>.<\/p>\n At least four victims suffered similar assaults in the city\u2019s Castle Park over a five-day period ending on December 5. <\/p>\n They involved two or more suspects who approached each victim at night, shining a light in their eyes before assaulting them. <\/p>\n In at least two cases the victims \u2013 who are aged between their 20s and 40s \u2013 were struck on the head and required hospital treatment.<\/p>\n In one case, he was also hit on the back, shoulder and wrist. Two of the victims were injured but did not require medical treatment.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/a><\/strong> newsletter or get Breaking News<\/a> <\/strong>alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n Descriptions of the suspects were limited due to the time of night, with most of the attacks taking place between 12.30am and 1.30am.<\/p>\n But in each case they were said to be wearing face coverings and dark clothing, and described as male, with one described as white.<\/p>\n The incidents are being treated as linked and police have ramped up their presence in the area, though locals are being urged to stay \u2018vigilant\u2019 after dark.<\/p>\n Detectives said they \u2018remain open-minded\u2019 about the motive for the attacks but are \u2018concerned they may be homophobic in nature\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018We\u2019ve made one arrest and are continuing to speak to the victims, review CCTV footage and carry out other inquiries to identify the offenders responsible for these concerning incidents\u2019, DI Alistair Norman said.<\/p>\n The arrested suspect is a 32-year-old man.
