ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The hit dating show \u201cLove Island USA\u201d has begun casting for its next season, setting its sights on the Last Frontier. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe team wants to hear from relatable, charismatic people from all walks of life \u2014 including those who may have never considered going on a dating show,” said publicist Natalie Russo in a press release. <\/p>\n
Based on the British TV series of the same name, the dating competition follows hopeful singles living in a tropical villa near Fiji. <\/p>\n
\u201cLove Island became popular in the US, like, 2 summers ago,\u201d said Luca Stella, a fan of the show who has applied to be a part of the next season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat season is when Ariana Maddox became the host.\u201d<\/p>\n
Stella said that his mother\u2019s love for Maddox is what initially got him to watch the show before he fell in love with it himself. <\/p>\n
\u201cI considered wanting to apply after this last season,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cI figured after, by the time the next season\u2019s airing, I\u2019d be out of college. It seems like a very unique experience, and I felt like it\u2019s an experience I wanted to be a part of.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Stella, the application process was more than he expected: around 70 different questions he had to answer online. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt asks you a whole bunch, from things like celebrity crushes or why you think you\u2019re single, or your relationship with your parents.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt makes sense because, especially with the popularity that the show is gained, I can see, they definitely want to know exactly who they\u2019re bringing on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Along with the questionnaire, Stella said he had to submit three photos of himself from the last year, along with a video introducing himself to producers. <\/p>\n
Recent seasons of \u201cLove Island USA\u201d have seen social media influencers compete on the show rather than people from all walks of life. <\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like the bigger you are, the easier it is to get on,\u201d Stella said. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut I think if you\u2019re a good enough personality and character and they think you\u2019re gonna be good TV, then I feel like, why not?\u201d<\/p>\n
