Liverpool turned in one of their finest ever away performances in the Champions League<\/a> on Tuesday as they beat Inter Milan 1-0<\/a> at the San Siro. Dominik Szoboszlai’s late penalty took all three points for the Reds as some of the intense pressure under Arne Slot<\/a> lifted.<\/p>\n As well as a rotten run of form, the Reds’ Dutch boss has had to contend with a major falling out with Liverpool<\/a> icon Mo Salah<\/a>. The winger has not started for Liverpool since their 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in late November.<\/p>\n In light of Salah’s explosive comments<\/a> following Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United<\/a> last weekend, where he claimed his relationship with Slot had broken down, the forward was left at home for the Reds’ Champions League tie in Italy.<\/p>\n The latest Liverpool news has seen one of Salah’s former team-mates reveal his personal talks with the Egyptian star<\/a>. Several other of the club’s stars have also spoken candidly on the controversy.<\/p>\n Daniel Sturridge’s private talks with Salah<\/p>\n Following Liverpool’s triumph over Inter, Daniel Sturridge<\/a> offered his perspective on the Salah saga. We are in it; we have all been through ups and downs.<\/p>\n “I think for Mo right now, I think he wants to help the team get back to where they have been, which was at the top. I think watching what’s happened, you want to be part of it.<\/p>\n “You’re at home, you’re sat there. This goes for players who are injured and players who are in this situation. The last thing you want to do is not be part of it. I think that is, of course, going to hurt him because he knows.”<\/p>\n He added: “He loves playing for this club, I know this. Mo has told me, ‘I love this football club. I don’t want to leave this club. This is where I want to be.’ He wants to be a Liverpool player, but he wants to play.<\/p>\n “I think they will have a conversation. I can’t speak for Mo, and what he is going to do, I don’t know how he is going to feel, but I think there needs to be another conversation between the manager and Mohamed Salah<\/a>.”<\/p>\n Liverpool dressing room’s united front<\/p>\n While the Salah situation may lead some observers to believe the Egyptian star’s stance is having a negative effect on dressing room morale, the reality is that the Reds are putting on a united front.<\/p>\n Speaking after the Inter victory, Andy Robertson said he hoped that Liverpool could resolve their differences with Salah, while praising the iconic winger.<\/p>\n “A tough situation. We’re talking about one of the greatest players to play for this club,” the left-back told Prime Video.<\/p>\n “I signed in the same window as him and we’ve been through so many highs and lows. Whatever has happened, happened. We’re all together in the changing room, and you could see that today.”<\/p>\n Asked about Salah’s future, he conceded: “That’ll be up to other people, it’s not up to me. I love playing with Mo Salah<\/a> and I hope to continue playing with him.”<\/p>\n Liverpool’s hero against Inter, Szoboszlai, also came out to bat for this team-mate. “I\u2019m very close with him,\u201d the Hungarian said.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s nothing to do with the players. It\u2019s him and his own choice with what he is doing with his own life and his own career.”<\/p>\n Asked whether he wanted Salah to stay, he added: “It\u2019s not our decision as players. I love him as a human being, as a friend of mine. As a player he has done so much for this club it\u2019s going to be the club\u2019s and his decision.”<\/p>\n Curtis Jones was also unequivocal in shooting down any suggestions that Salah\u2019s comments had changed the atmosphere in the dressing room. \u201cNo,\u201d said Jones.<\/p>\n \u201cMo is his own man. I can\u2019t really speak on another man and his business,” he added. “Everyone knows how much of a legend that Mo is. I can\u2019t really speak on it.
