Mike Ashley is weighing up a second bid for Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> after seeing his first knocked back, as per The Star<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> are still on the lookout for their new owner after entering administration in October<\/a>. From a perilous position under Dejphon Chansiri<\/a>, SWFC have been able to stabilise with fans\u2019 contributions in buying tickets and merchandise<\/a> proving key.<\/p>\n

The Owls\u2019 administrators, Begbies Traynor, are focused on finding the right long-term owner for the club. It means they are carefully deliberating over all parties as they take a patient approach in their preferred bidder selection.<\/p>\n

One man at the fore of the Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> takeover front has been Mike Ashley, but the last we heard of him was that he had seen an opening bid for the club turned down.<\/p>\n

Now though, as per The Star<\/a>, Ashley remains a figure interested in buying the stricken Championship club. He is considering an improved offer for Wednesday as the administrators hope to whittle it down to a preferred bidder over next week.<\/p>\n

There has been a mixed response to Ashley\u2019s presence in the Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> takeover race. His rejected bid for a club in administration<\/a> hasn\u2019t painted him in the best light.<\/p>\n

From his time at Newcastle United, the Sports Direct mogul was not one for major investment or prosperous plans for the future. He would cut corners financially where possible to keep costs at a minimum, but many argue it is this exact trait that would make him ideal in stabilising SWFC.<\/p>\n

Begbies Traynor are considering all possibilities though. Before Ashley can be considered, he has to return with a suitable bid, which is not guaranteed yet.<\/p>\n

Other parties have been in with their offers for a while already. They will have taken this time to cross t\u2019s and dot i\u2019s to make sure their offer is as strong as it can possibly be.<\/p>\n

While the takeover saga rumbles on, Henrik Pedersen is doing all he can to keep Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> players delivering for their loyal fans.<\/p>\n

Relegation is a given. However, the players are still battling for every point on the pitch to reward the fans who have followed them in great numbers home and away.<\/p>\n
