There have been a few musical RPGs before. The likes of Stray Gods<\/a> springs to mind \u2013 or, heck, even Eternal Sonata<\/a> to an extent.<\/p>\n

But People of Note<\/a>, the upcoming PS5 adventure from Iridium and Annapurna, has really caught our attention.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t going to be for everyone, and you\u2019ll know within the first 20-seconds of the trailer whether you\u2019re the target audience \u2013 but y\u2019know what, we\u2019re all-in.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the official blurb, straight from the PS Store<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this turn-based RPG musical, join Cadence as she recruits an ensemble of musicians on her quest for stardom. Experience turn-based combat like never before, where each battle is a musical performance with evolving combat conditions and genre-bending mashup attacks!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Voice actress Heather Gonzalez will play Cadence, but her vocals will be handled by real-life popstar LEXXE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Obviously, these songs are going to need to be good to carry the battle system through a full campaign, but we remain optimistic about the prospect.<\/p>\n

If nothing else, this is a really brilliant idea.<\/p>\n
