There\u2019s nothing like the classic grub and rough-around-the-edges charm of a traditional London boozers. But sometimes you might want\u00a0somewhere with\u00a0a little extra glamour. That\u2019s where London\u2019s posh gastropubs come in. And at the height of Sunday roast season, the\u00a0Times\u00a0has just named its 13 favourite in the capital.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Much like we do here at Time Out,\u00a0writers at the\u00a0Times\u00a0\u2018embarked upon the ultimate pub crawl\u2019\u00a0to determine which of the city\u2019s high-end alehouses are the poshest of them all.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of Time Out\u2019s favourite gastros, the\u00a0Camberwell Arms<\/strong> was included\u00a0for its \u2018cosy and comfy\u2019 atmosphere and Sunday roasts that \u2018taste of home\u2019. We awarded the same Camberwell pub five stars<\/a> last year. In her review, Time Out food editor Leonie Cooper\u00a0called it \u2018the\u00a0gastropub to end all gastropubs\u2019 and that \u2018\u201csublime\u201d doesn\u2019t even begin to do it justice\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The only other east London establishment on the list is\u00a0the Knave of Clubs<\/strong>, praising it for being \u2018Shoreditch at its best \u2014 creative, warm and just a little scruffy\u2019. Unsurprisingly for a list that that highlights posh spots, pubs in\u00a0west London dominate.<\/p>\n

Four pubs in Notting Hill made the cut: the Fat Badger<\/strong>,\u00a0the Pelican<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(both owned by hospitality group Public House), the Cow<\/a><\/strong> and the Princess Royal<\/strong>. A shoutout also went to the newly\u00a0launched\u00a0The Marlborough X Crisp Pizza<\/strong><\/a>. The paper said: \u2018The top part of the Marlborough offers a cosy, dimly lit space complete with burgundy leather, barstools and the Devonshire\u2019s famously good Guinness. Meanwhile those lucky enough to get one of the 60 seats downstairs will be treated to cosy tables under the kind of green lamps you\u2019d find in a New York pizzeria.\u2019<\/p>\n

Other entries include the Tamil Crown<\/a><\/strong> in Angel, which serves south Indian cuisine and\u00a0the Hart<\/strong> in Marylebone (another one from Public House). Read on for the full list.\u00a0<\/p>\n
