It takes a lot to shift your reputation, especially when it comes to someone like Stewart, who earned her name from that iconic coming-of-age vampire saga before turning into one of the most well-regarded and versatile actors of an entire generation.

On top of that, however, Stewart also knows when to speak up where it counts. More recently, for instance, she assessed the gendered attitudes toward method acting, saying that acting was an inherently “embarrassing” thing to do, and that’s why more men tend to method act – to gear themselves up to that vulnerability before stepping in front of a camera.

In the past, Stewart has also weighed in on Hollywood’s commercial landscape while discussing how she had to fight to direct The Chronology of Water for almost a decade. “Without being ungrateful, we need a workaround,” she told The New York Times. “Having it be so impossible for people to tell stories is capitalist hell, and it hates women and marginalised voices, and it’s racist. It’s too hard to make movies right now that aren’t blockbuster-y, proven equations.”

Stewart exhibits the same kind of honesty when it comes to her own work or with regard to roles she’s played that she feels a certain way about. And, while she’s come far from her days as one of the industry’s most innocent up-and-coming darlings, associations with the beloved Twilight series will always be a common talking point whenever Stewart’s name comes up, regardless of the more career-defining roles she took on after.

A saga that has quite literally become its own beast, Twilight remains a point of contention among many of the actors involved, including Robert Pattinson, who has never shied away from his true feelings, oscillating between casual dismissiveness and diplomatic gratitude, a common concoction when it comes to so-called cheesy movies that put your name on the map. For Stewart, the experience was no different.

In her experience, however, it’s more to do with that some of the lines in the film still haunt her to this day, including one in particular that she had to say to her co-star, Taylor Lautner. During an interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Stewart recalled the moment in New Moon when her character, Bella Swan, was supposed to comment on the appearance of her secondary love interest, Jacob Black.

“There was this one line that I couldn’t deliver at all, which is so embarrassing because I was so embarrassed,” said Stewart. “The most embarrassing thing is to look at yourself be embarrassed. There was this thing I think where I was supposed to say to him, to Taylor, like something about his muscles or something. Where it was like ‘Hey Biceps. “I think I was like ‘Hey. Hey, bi, bi, biceps.’ Oh God. And that’s in that film forever.”

While her discomfort is justified, it’s likely that Stewart isn’t alone in her claim. After all, the film has become cited by many subsequent internet memes, including the kicker, which was Lautner’s very own, “Bella, where the hell have you been, loca?” As well as one of Pattinson’s, the classic, “This is the skin of a killer, Bella.”

Related Topics

(Credits: Far Out / Alamy) Thu 11 December 2025 22:30, UK Most actors have regrets, especially when it…

[3935
77,21620,3943,171146,16,15
0":"post-627536","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-movies","8":"tag-entertainment","9":"tag-kristen-stewart","10":"tag-movies","11":"tag-twilight","12":"tag-uk","13":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
