France should ban children under the age of 15\u201316 from using
\nsocial media, President Emmanuel Macron has announced,
\nAzernews<\/strong> reports.<\/p>\n

According to the French president, mandatory age verification
\nwill be introduced across all social networks, with a minimum age
\nset at 15\u201316 years. Children and teenagers under 18 will face
\nstricter restrictions on accessing social media platforms.<\/p>\n

Macron stated that the government plans to present the relevant
\nbill early next year and emphasized his goal of seeing it passed
\nbefore the end of his presidential term in 2027.<\/p>\n

The proposal comes amid growing concerns over the impact of
\nsocial media on young people\u2019s mental health, online safety, and
\nexposure to harmful content. Experts warn that early exposure to
\nsocial networks can contribute to anxiety, cyberbullying, and
\ndistorted body image among adolescents.<\/p>\n

Earlier, we reported that Australia implemented a similar ban
\nlast year, prohibiting children under 16 from using social media
\nplatforms, making France one of the latest countries considering
\nstricter regulations to protect minors online.<\/p>\n

Some critics argue that instead of outright bans, governments
\ncould focus on better digital education and parental controls,
\nhelping children learn to navigate online spaces safely rather than
\nexcluding them entirely.<\/p>\n
