A yellow weather warning has been issued for western Scotland this weekend as heavy rain and gusty winds are expected.<\/p>\n
The warning is set to come into effect from midday tomorrow, December 13 and will remain in place until Sunday, December 14.<\/p>\n

Rain is expected to develop late on Saturday morning, becoming \u201cpersistent and heavy\u201d before easing from the west on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
Most areas are likely to receive between 30 and 50 millimetres of rain, with higher ground potentially seeing up to 100 millimetres.<\/p>\n
The Met Office has warned that \u201cstrong and gusty\u201d southwesterly winds will accompany the rain.<\/p>\n
Residents are being warned that some homes and roads could flood, with travel delays on roads and public transport likely.<\/p>\n
Minor power outages may also occur.<\/p>\n
The Met Office has advised people to plan ahead before travelling, allow extra time and prepare for possible disruptions to power and other essential services.<\/p>\n
The warning affects the Highlands & Eilean Siar, Highland, Strathclyde, and Argyll and Bute.<\/p>\n
