Mohamed Salah<\/a> will be part of the Liverpool squad to face Brighton<\/a> on Saturday after holding positive talks with Arne Slot<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n

Salah and Slot held talks at the AXA Training Centre on Friday morning to resolve a conflict sparked by the Egyptian being dropped from the starting lineup.<\/p>\n

His fiery interview following a third game on the bench for Saturday\u2019s 3-3 draw with Leeds<\/a> saw him left out of the squad for Tuesday\u2019s 1-0 win over Inter Milan.<\/p>\n

But it has now been widely reported that Salah will return to the Liverpool squad for the clash with Brighton<\/a> in the Premier League<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Athletic<\/a>\u2018s James Pearce \u2013 who asked Slot directly in his pre-match press conference whether he wanted the No. 11 to stay \u2013 was among those to relay word from club sources on Friday evening.<\/p>\n

Salah situation not entirely resolved; AFCON break key<\/p>\n

Salah\u2019s recall comes after \u201cpositive discussions,\u201d though the situation is not seen as being entirely resolved.<\/p>\n

Further conversations are expected to take place with the player\u2019s representative, Ramy Abbas Issa, during a period away from the club while on duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.<\/p>\n

That tournament kicks off on December 21, with Salah joining up with the Egypt squad directly after the Brighton<\/a> game this weekend.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if the 33-year-old will be in starting contention for Saturday\u2019s 3pm kickoff, particularly as his last start for the club came over a fortnight ago now against PSV Eindhoven.<\/p>\n

But Slot already knows he will be without Cody Gakpo<\/a> (muscle) while there are doubts over the fitness of Alexander Isak<\/a> who took a knock against Inter Milan.<\/p>\n

Hugo Ekitike<\/a> is almost certain to start while Slot could turn to Dominik Szoboszlai<\/a> on the right wing if he reverts to a 4-2-3-1 formation.<\/p>\n

Federico Chiesa<\/a> is available again having missed the trip to Inter due to illness, while youngster Rio Ngumoha<\/a> remains on standby.<\/p>\n

What Arne Slot said about Mo Salah talks<\/p>\n

In his pre-match press conference, Slot revealed<\/a> that sporting director Richard Hughes<\/a> was involved in the decision to leave Salah on Merseyside when Liverpool faced Inter.<\/p>\n

But the head coach insisted any call over player selection was \u201centirely\u201d his.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019ve decided as a club and I was part of that decision not to take him to the Inter Milan game,\u201d he told reporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m always in contact with them, but when it comes to the decision-making of the lineup or the squad they always leave that open to me.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut that\u2019s not to say that I don\u2019t talk to them \u2013 mainly Richard, by the way, not Michael [Edwards] \u2013 but I talk to Richard about so many things.<\/p>\n
