New rollout will make life easier for certain motorists\"AThousands more electric vehicle chargers will be rolled out.<\/p>\n

Everyone who drives an electric vehicle (EV) will have more chargers to access, with thousands more to be rolled out in the West Midlands.<\/p>\n

Charging capacity is being ramped up in the region ahead of the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel cars which will slowly start to move everyone towards electric vehicles.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker has announced another 10,000 connection points will be installed.<\/p>\n

There are already over 4,000 charging points available in the West Midlands.<\/p>\n

There are also plans for almost 200 charging points at nine ‘ultra-fast filling stations’ where drivers will be able to power their vehicles with 100 miles or range in less than 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

It comes as industry figures attempt to ease concerns among Brits over the switch to electric cars, with common worries relating to charging times and battery range.<\/p>\n

The Mayor said: \u201cThe West Midlands is the beating heart of the UK car industry and I want us to lead the charge into a new era of electrification.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur roadside EV charging network is already one of the fastest-growing in the country, but I\u2019m not stopping there.<\/p>\n
