{"id":62932,"date":"2025-04-30T12:39:16","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T12:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/62932\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T12:39:16","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T12:39:16","slug":"greenwich-council-offering-private-landlords-grants-of-up-to-15000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/62932\/","title":{"rendered":"Greenwich Council offering private landlords grants of up to \u00a315,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"meta\">Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 &#8211; Royal Borough of Greenwich <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"626\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/finding-a-home-pro.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14333\" style=\"width:800px\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Private\u00a0landlords are being urged to let\u00a0or\u00a0lease\u00a0their properties to\u00a0the\u00a0Royal\u00a0Borough of\u00a0Greenwich\u00a0to help residents at risk of homelessness\u00a0or\u00a0living in temporary accommodation move into safe and secure homes that meet\u00a0their needs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0council\u2019s improved\u00a0scheme, which includes free training and support to\u00a0landlords, aims to match people on\u00a0the housing register with good private\u00a0landlords to help reduce\u00a0the\u00a0numbers of people in\u00a0costly temporary accommodation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Councillor Pat Slattery<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0Greenwich Cabinet Member for Housing Management, Neighbourhoods and Homelessness\u00a0said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking for more private sector\u00a0landlords to help us tackle\u00a0the\u00a0housing crisis by\u00a0renting\u00a0or\u00a0leasing\u00a0their properties to us for people and families that really need a stable home.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike many London boroughs\u00a0the\u00a0demand for housing far outweighs\u00a0the\u00a0supply we have, and this is also true for those households at risk of homelessness\u00a0or\u00a0living in temporary accommodation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re working continuously\u00a0to reduce\u00a0the\u00a0number of households in hotels\u00a0or\u00a0bed and breakfasts, which currently stands at fewer than 50, as we know it is costly and doesn\u2019t guarantee\u00a0the\u00a0stability that families need to thrive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want people to have access to a safe and secure home that meets\u00a0their needs, so if you are a\u00a0landlord\u00a0with a\u00a0property\u00a0to\u00a0rent\u00a0or\u00a0to\u00a0lease, get in touch with us today \u2013 we have attractive options and will work with you to provide\u00a0the homes our residents really need.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0council is looking for\u00a0landlords with properties to\u00a0rent\u00a0or\u00a0lease\u00a0within the Royal Borough of Greenwich or\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0surrounding areas.\u00a0The scheme\u00a0is free of charge with no fees, commission\u00a0or\u00a0charges and\u00a0rents paid at\u00a0the\u00a0Local Housing Allowance rate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If\u00a0the\u00a0property\u00a0requires maintenance\u00a0or\u00a0improvement, grants of up to \u00a315,000 are available to bring it up to standard.
