{"id":629846,"date":"2025-12-13T08:44:28","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T08:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/629846\/"},"modified":"2025-12-13T08:44:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T08:44:28","slug":"new-cycling-and-walking-link-opened-in-granton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/629846\/","title":{"rendered":"New cycling and walking link opened in Granton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A NEW walking,\u00a0wheeling\u00a0and cycling link has been opened in\u00a0Granton, as part of the City of Edinburgh Council\u2019s\u00a0Granton\u00a0Regeneration project.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The new route includes several different\u00a0facets\u00a0for improved active transport, such as\u00a0a\u00a0segregated cycle track, new and improved footways and crossing points, and resting points along the route.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the council said added that \u201ctrees have been planted to improve biodiversity with more to be done in the next planting season and the section which joins\u00a0Forthquarter\u00a0Park has been significantly improved making this green public space more accessible\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It adds:\u00a0\u201cThe route has also been designed to make sure it allows for bus routes to be extended in the future, where necessary, to accommodate housing and population growth in the area.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deadlinenews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/WesternVillages-0174-scaled-e1765541102875.jpg?ssl=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" data-dominant-color=\"6b6367\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #6b6367;\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1252787 not-transparent\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/WesternVillages-0174.jpg\"\/><\/a>Walkers and cyclists using the new segregated route.
