A London Overground line will partially shut for three more weekends in early 2026 following an 11-day Christmas closure. Major engineering works will take place on Mildmay line throughout December, January and February.<\/p>\n
From December 26 until January 4 engineers will replace 10 sets of points – movable track which allows trains to switch from one line to another – and add new concrete sleepers. National Rail says there is an increased risk of regular track faults causing delays to passengers if the work is not carried out.<\/p>\n
Three weekend closures in January and February will include stretches of track being replaced between Brondesbury Park and Willesden Junction. During these closures engineers will return to the new track with specialist machinery to complete the installation.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, another team will be replacing an additional 1.5km of worn-out straight track.<\/p>\n

Thursday, December 25 – Sunday, January 4<\/strong><\/p>\n The Mildmay line is fully shut on Christmas Day, while on Boxing Day the only service will be a shuttle between Shepherd’s Bush<\/a> and Clapham Junction<\/a>. Replacement buses operate between Shepherd\u2019s Bush and Camden<\/a> Road, and between Camden Road and Stratford.<\/p>\n From December 27 to January 4, there will be no service between Camden Road and both Richmond and Shepherd’s Bush. A special train service will run between Willesden Junction and Stratford (via Queen’s Park). A shuttle train will run between Shepherd\u2019s Bush and Clapham Junction. Replacement buses operate between Camden Road and Gunnersbury.<\/p>\n Saturday, January 10 – Sunday, January 11<\/strong><\/p>\n No trains will run between Gospel Oak and both Richmond and Shepherd’s Bush. Like the previous closure, a special service will run between Willesden Junction and Stratford, a shuttle train will run between Shepherd\u2019s Bush and Clapham Junction and buses will replace trains between Camden Road and Gunnersbury.<\/p>\n Simon Milburn, infrastructure director for Network Rail Anglia, said: \u201cWe\u2019re sorry for the extended closure at Christmas and the additional weekends in the new year, but this is a big job that will make a real positive impact for passengers in the long-term.<\/p>\n \u201cThe busy Mildmay line is shared with regular heavy freight trains, which means there\u2019s more stress and strain on the track than on other parts of the network. We are installing new track that is built to last for decades to come.\u201d<\/p>\n Saturday January 31 – Sunday, February 1 and Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15.<\/strong><\/p>\n On both weekends \u2013 no service between Camden Road and both Richmond and Shepherd’s Bush. A special train service will run between Willesden Junction and Stratford. A shuttle train will run between Shepherd\u2019s Bush and Clapham Junction. Replacement buses operate between Camden Road and Gunnersbury and between Camden Road and Richmond on Sunday, February 15.<\/p>\n
