Three men have been arrested over an \u00a38 million haul of cocaine in what police have described as one of the largest drugs recoveries in Scotland. Officers executed a warrant at a premises on Melford Road in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire<\/a>, on Thursday December 11.<\/p>\n

The area houses many businesses as part of a vast industrial estate. The men, aged 29, 46 and 65, were arrested and charged in connection with the drug find<\/a> and they are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday December 15.<\/p>\n

A police statement<\/a> also said enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing. Detectives Superintendent Steven Elliot said: \u201cThis was a sizeable recovery \u2013 one of the most significant we\u2019ve seen in Scotland.<\/p>\n

“This work underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country\u2019s Serious Organised Crime Strategy. Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.<\/p>\n
