Darrell Clarke<\/a> has been sacked as Bristol Rovers<\/a> Head Coach following a run of ten consecutive league defeats – the worst losing streak in the league in the club’s history.<\/p>\n

Nobody from Rovers was made available for a post-match interview<\/a>, with a statement from the club announcing Clarke\u2019s departure three and a half hours after the final whistle.<\/p>\n

The club statement said: “Bristol Rovers FC can confirm that Men\u2019s First Team Head Coach Darrell Clarke and Assistant Head Coach Jon Stead have been relieved of their duties.<\/p>\n

“The Club would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Darrell and Jon for their hard work and efforts. Darrell\u2019s legacy at the Club is assured and he will always be warmly welcomed at The Memorial Stadium.”The process to recruit a successor is underway and the Club will be making no further comment at this time.”<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old\u2019s final game was a 3-0 defeat at home to Swindon Town<\/a>, with Joe Snowdon, Ollie Clarke, and Aaron Drinan scoring for the Robins in the first-half. Both teams also ended the game with ten-men following red cards to Kacper Lopata and Drinan.<\/p>\n

Clarke returned to North Bristol in the summer, seven years after his first spell at the club, which saw him win back-to-back promotions from the Conference to League One.<\/p>\n

After four consecutive defeats in all competitions to start this season, Rovers went on an eight-match unbeaten run in August and September. The defeat away at Walsall in early October started a run of ten straight league defeats, though, meaning the club have decided to part ways with the 47-year-old.<\/p>\n

The recent run of form leaves the Gas in the relegation zone, following Harrogate Town\u2019s 1-1 draw at Cheltenham Town.<\/p>\n
