The Belfast City Council has listed locations where residents can pick up sandbags to protect their properties<\/a> and has issued advice on how to prepare for flooding \u2014 ahead of the approaching yellow warning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sandbags are also available to residents in Antrim and Newtownabbey<\/a> Borough Council area.<\/p>\n

The Met alert comes into force across Northern Ireland at midnight (Sunday) and lasts until 6am GMT on Monday morning, when conditions are expected to ease.<\/p>\n

Periods of heavy and persistent rainfall are expected which could lead to travel disruption. This could lead to flooding of a small number of properties, especially in flood-prone areas. The prospect of spray and standing water on roads are likely to make driving conditions difficult during this time.<\/p>\n

Public transport could be affected and there could also be some interruptions to power supplies and other services.<\/p>\n
