{"id":63177,"date":"2025-04-30T14:50:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T14:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/63177\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T14:50:10","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T14:50:10","slug":"trailer-released-for-netflix-documentary-on-mercedes-f1s-antonelli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/63177\/","title":{"rendered":"Trailer released for Netflix documentary on Mercedes F1&#8217;s Antonelli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The trailer for an upcoming documentary on Formula 1 hotshot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/andrea-kimi-antonelli\/953410\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andrea Kimi Antonelli<\/a> has been released ahead of its premiere next week.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix will publish \u2018The Seat\u2019 on Monday 5 May, and it will be a 45-minute documentary charting the previous year of the Italian\u2019s life as he geared up for his promotion to F1.<\/p>\n<p>In August of last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/team\/mercedes\/36495\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mercedes<\/a> announced Antonelli as its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/driver\/lewis-hamilton\/829181\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> replacement for 2025, with the 18-year-old contesting his rookie F2 season at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a dream come true to be an F1 driver with the Mercedes F1 Team,\u201d said Antonelli, who is now five grands prix into his rookie campaign and is sixth in the standings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThroughout the process, Toto, the team and I were in constant communication. \u2018The Seat\u2019 shows this process from start to finish. I can\u2019t wait for the world to join us on this journey streaming the documentary on Netflix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The trailer was actually released by Mercedes team partner WhatsApp and offers glimpses of the F1 feature that promises exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the internal selection process to his Mercedes practice debut at Monza, as well as personal insight into his life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSelecting Kimi as our race driver for 2025 was, as \u2018The Seat\u2019 documents, a big decision,\u201d said Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff, who was captured in the trailer informing Antonelli of the choice to promote him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatsApp played an instrumental role in this.
