Wales is set for wet weather once again as a band of heavy rain is expected to settle over the country for 24 hours. The Met Office has issued two separate yellow weather warnings covering 12 parts of Wales<\/a>, beginning on Sunday evening (December 14) and remaining in place for all of Monday (December 15).<\/p>\n

The warnings for rain come after the Met Office said that there is a chance that 70mm of rain could fall in some places. Forecasters also warned that disruption, including flooding and transport issues, is likely due to the recent wet weather<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first warning, covering Ceredigion<\/a>, Conwy<\/a>, Denbighshire<\/a>, Gwynedd<\/a> and Powys, comes into force at 6pm on Sunday and remains in place until 3pm on Monday.<\/p>\n

A 24-hour warning for Bridgend<\/a>, Carmarthenshire<\/a>, Neath <\/a>Port Talbot<\/a>, Pembrokeshire<\/a>, Powys, Rhondda<\/a> Cynon Taf, Swansea<\/a> then comes into force at midnight tonight.<\/p>\n

This is the picture at 6pm when the first weather warning for parts of mid and north Wales comes into effect.<\/p>\n

8pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

The west coast will see heavy downpours on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

The Met Office has described the band of rain that will hit Wales as “slow-moving”.<\/p>\n

The second weather warning covering seven parts of Wales comes into effect at midnight. The heavy downpours will gradually spread across more areas of the country throughout Monday night.<\/p>\n

By the time many people are waking up on Monday, much of the country will be experiencing heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n

9am<\/strong><\/p>\n

There will be little ease in the rainfall throughout the morning due to the band of rain settling over Wales<\/p>\n

Midday<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the day moves on, the rain will gradually move in a north-eastwards direction.<\/p>\n

A Met Office forecast said: “There is a chance that 30-40 mm of rain could fall quite widely with some places seeing 50-70 mm.”<\/p>\n

Forecasters are warning that the wet weather is likely to cause disruption due to the ground already being saturated in the aftermath of Storm Bram.<\/p>\n

There will be more heavy downpours on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

10pm<\/strong><\/p>\n
