Coronation Street favourite Charlotte Jordan<\/a> has revealed a new soap role ahead of her exit from the ITV<\/a> soap.<\/p>\n

The actress, who has played Daisy Midgeley<\/a> for the last four years, will depart in scenes that air this week.<\/p>\n

Her explosive exit plot will see her flee Weatherfield for a new life after scamming step-mum Jenny Connor<\/a>\u00a0(Sally Ann Matthews<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Alongside mum Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), Daisy has\u00a0set up a fake dating profile<\/a>\u00a0to convince Jenny to invest in her new lover\u2019s business, while they secretly reap the benefits.<\/p>\n

The mystery man \u2013\u00a0Dom (Dominic Rickhards)<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 really\u00a0does\u00a0exist, but actually dating Christina.<\/p>\n

In Monday\u2019s episode, Daisy\u2019s boyfriend\u00a0Daniel Osbourne<\/a>\u00a0(Rob Mallard<\/a>) caught the women with a burner phone, and was furious to learn the truth.<\/p>\n

He gave her an brutal ultimatum \u2013\u00a0him or the money<\/a>. She didn\u2019t hesitate in dropping their relationship and proceeding with her scheming.<\/p>\n

Now, just weeks on from wrapping filming at the 65 year old TV soap\u2019s studios in Trafford, Greater Manchester, she is heading to BBC Birmingham for a role in another titan of the continuing drama industry \u2013 Radio 4\u2019s The Archers.<\/a><\/p>\n

The six-weekly drama has been on air since 1st January 1951, making it the longest running soap opera in the world.<\/p>\n

This followed five pilot episodes that aired the previous May.<\/p>\n

Speaking on today\u2019s edition of This Morning<\/a> with hosts Ben Shephard<\/a>, Cat Deeley<\/a> and soap correspondent Sharon Marshall, Charlotte looked ahead to new adventures post-Corrie. <\/p>\n

\u2018I do feel excited, it\u2019s a fresh start,\u2019 she explained.<\/p>\n

\u2018I feel like I\u2019ve done a lot of soapy things. I\u2019ve done the check list. [Coronation Street] have been really good to me and it just feels like a new beginning.\u2019<\/p>\n

Sharon interjected: \u2018But next, The Archers?\u2019<\/p>\n

Charlotte looked cautious about answering, clearly wanting to keep her new role under wraps.<\/p>\n

\u2018Yes, I am. I am joining The Archers, which is really fun,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

\u2018I start very soon, I can\u2019t say very much about it, but the character will ruffle some feathers. That\u2019s what I can say.\u2019<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re unfamiliar with The Archers, it is officially billed by the broadcaster as \u2018a contemporary drama in a rural setting\u2019, following the lives of residents in the village of Ambridge.<\/p>\n

Initially established as a way of educating farmers<\/a> following World War II, it now reaches millions of listeners.<\/p>\n

Ben later asked Charlotte whether the door had been left open for her to return to Corrie, to which she replied: \u2018Yes \u2013 they\u2019ve been really good to me.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018When I said \u201cI think it\u2019s time for me to go\u201d, I was fully prepared for them to run me over.\u2019<\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.<\/strong><\/p>\n
