As Chelsea fans celebrated returning to winning ways against Everton in the Premier League, Enzo Maresca did not want to talk about the three points his side had just picked up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Instead, Maresca<\/a> stated that he had struggled more in the 48 hours before the game than he ever had at Chelsea, indicating that he has not had support in that timeframe.<\/p>\n

It was unclear who the manager was referring to at the time, however he made it clear that he was not launching an attack on the Chelsea<\/a> supporters.<\/p>\n

As Cole Palmer<\/a> and Malo Gusto<\/a> sent the Blues back to winning ways in front of their home fans, it brought to an end a four-game winless run where Maresca has been criticised for some of his decisions.<\/p>\n

There have been some eyebrow-raising calls by the boss. Maresca subbed on Tosin Adarabioyo against Atalanta<\/a>, despite already having Gusto and Reece James on the pitch in midfield.<\/p>\n

Simon Phillips has stated on his Substack<\/a> that some of those in the club hierarchy are becoming \u2018fed up\u2019 following another slump of form, as well as questioned his tactics and in-game management.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThere\u2019s been a feeling amongst the Chelsea hierarchy that we have regressed from last season with some of the performances. Certain figures have become a bit \u2018fed up\u2019 after recent form, and the blame has been placed on the manager for this.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome high up at the club believe Maresca has been \u2018playing too safe\u2019 and hasn\u2019t been using his squad properly. People like Jorrel Hato have hardly played, and Estevao is not being used as much as some believe he should be. <\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying players \u2018out of position\u2019 was also mentioned to me as a gripe. In-game management is another thing I heard about. His tactics overall have been questioned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chelsea fans need to keep in mind just how bad things were at the club before Maresca took over, with Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino\u2019s reins being underwhelming to say the least.<\/p>\n

The Blues are seen as one of the top sides in world football, and last season saw two trophies return to Stamford Bridge<\/a>. As of now, they are set to move into the knockout stages of the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Like the playing squad, Maresca is still in the early stages of what looks set to be a promising career at the very top. He is making mistakes, as he is expected to.<\/p>\n

Chelsea should look to give the manager their full backing going forwards, including in the transfer market, after ignoring his demands to sign a new centre-back over the summer.<\/p>\n
