Carol Wright has opened up about the famous family’s Christmas plans this year – and the moment she turned detective after finding messages on her husband’s mobile!<\/p>\n

Since shooting to fame on The Only Way Is Essex<\/a>, the Wright family have followed very different career paths, with Mark going into presenting and sister Jess embracing brand deals. But they\u2019ll all be back together under one roof for Christmas<\/a> as mum Carol<\/a> is hosting her four children and four grandchildren. \u201cWe\u2019re all going to be together as a family,\u201d Jess, 40, tells us. \u201cAnd we love a glass of champagne here and there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Laughing, Carol adds, \u201cOne or two \u2013 or three or four!\u201d Carol and husband Mark Sr will be welcoming daughters Jess and Natalya, and sons Mark and Josh, as well as their partners and kids. And it\u2019s set to be an extra special Christmas for Mark Jr and his wife, actress Michelle Keegan<\/a>, as it\u2019s the first one they\u2019ll be celebrating with their baby daughter Palma.<\/p>\n

Jess reveals that nine-month-old Palma is already best pals with her cousins \u2013 Jess\u2019s three-year-old son Presley and Josh\u2019s sons, Joshua Jr, three, and Dustin, two.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the kids are adorable together. It\u2019ll be lovely to all be together for Christmas,\u201d she says. Carol gushes, \u201cI\u2019ve got four grandchildren, and they\u2019re all just so gorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n

But there won\u2019t be much downtime for the Wrights this festive season, as there are plenty of family plans keeping them busy in the run-up to Christmas. \u201cWe\u2019re going to Lapland \u2013 not Finland, but the UK one \u2013 with the children,\u201d Carol says. \u201cThen we\u2019ve got Disney On Ice planned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although they\u2019re excited about the entire clan coming together, Jess and Natalya warn things may get a bit heated in the kitchen when it comes to Christmas dinner<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019ve always got family feuds over silly little things,\u201d Jess says.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike, who\u2019s got the best Christmas trees?\u201d And model Natalya, 25, adds, \u201cAnd who makes the best roast dinner.\u201d Although she readily admits it\u2019s Carol who\u2019s the reigning champion. \u201cIt\u2019s got to be Mum,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

Jess adds, \u201cShe\u2019s hosting us all this year, so she\u2019s going to have to live up to that. There are always pictures of people\u2019s dinners going into our group chat and them saying whose food looks better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carol, Jess and Natalya already spend a lot of quality time together thanks to their new podcast, Wright At Home. The trio chat about motherhood, pop culture and family drama, including the time Carol became convinced her husband was having an affair.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was looking through his phone and saw messages saying, \u2018Hi love, how are you? Can\u2019t wait to meet you,\u2019 and all this,\u201d Carol explains. \u201cI was thinking, \u2018Who is this? What are these messages?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I rang the number and it was my niece! It turned out Jess had given her dad her old phone to use and they were actually old messages to Jess from her cousins.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sometimes, drama even develops from something as simple as what Jess, Natalya and Carol have decided to wear that day. \u201cWe do squabble sometimes because this one doesn\u2019t like this outfit and that one doesn\u2019t like that outfit,\u201d Carol admits.<\/p>\n

Jess says, \u201cThere\u2019s the odd rift here and there but it\u2019s generally nice. It\u2019s all about the dynamics between mothers and daughters and what goes on behind the scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carol and Natalya have been a big support for Jess after her son Presley was diagnosed with a rare heart condition last year. The toddler will need open-heart surgery later in life for his Bicuspid Aortic Valve, and he needs regular check-ups.<\/p>\n

But despite his significant health battles, he\u2019s doing well, proud mum Jess says. \u201cHe\u2019s good. We did a gala in April to raise money for the charity. That\u2019s important to us.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got his next check at the beginning of the year so we won\u2019t know much more until then,\u201d she says. \u201cThe checks are every four months now. But my family are really, really great and rally around us. Everyone\u2019s in it together.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been eight years since Carol and Jess left TOWIE, bringing their reality TV chapter to an end. But although they admit filming it was an \u201cintense\u201d experience, they still have a lot of respect for the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of us can look back and regret it because it\u2019s why we are here today doing this type of work,\u201d Carol says. \u201cIt all stems from being on the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jess adds, \u201cIt was amazing. It was obviously a big shock factor when it first got released all those years ago. It was one of the first of its kind. Having been on TOWIE and let the viewers in, it was intense but amazing \u2013 and it\u2019s still going. We can all look back on it with fond memories.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the New Year<\/a>, the family are looking forward to taking it easy after what\u2019s sure to be a fun, but chaotic Christmas. \u201cI think it\u2019s always important to start off the new year with a fresh mindset and a good work ethic,\u201d Jess says. \u201cWe\u2019ll probably need a good detox after the madness of Christmas!\u201d<\/p>\n
