Glasgow train services were disrupted today after a garden shed was spotted on the railway,<\/a> adding to a weekend of travel chaos.<\/p>\n

The unusual obstruction was reported on the line between Paisley Gilmour Street and Hillington West at around 6pm on Sunday, December 14, causing delays to services running between Glasgow Central<\/a> and Ayrshire and Inverclyde.<\/p>\n

Compounding the problems, a separate incident involving cattle on the line near Branchton, close to Greenock<\/a>, also affected the same routes, leading to further delays for passengers.<\/p>\n

ScotRail<\/a> services from Glasgow Central have faced significant disruption throughout the weekend after heavy rainfall and hazardous conditions resulted in multiple delays and cancellations, with Sunday evening\u2019s incidents adding to the ongoing chaos.<\/p>\n

Network Rail confirmed the shed was swiftly removed from the tracks and said it was working closely with ScotRail to restore services as quickly as possible, reports GlasgowLive.<\/a><\/p>\n

Posting on X shortly before 6pm, Network Rail Scotland said: \u201cWe\u2019re dealing with two incidents affecting Glasgow Central \u2013 Ayrshire\/Inverclyde services. Between Paisley Gilmour Street and Hillington West, we have a garden shed on the line. We\u2019ve also had a report of cattle on the track near Branchton.\u201d<\/p>\n

An update soon followed, stating: \u201cWe\u2019ve removed the shed from the tracks between Paisley Gilmour Street and Hillington West. We\u2019re now working with @ScotRail to get services back on time as quickly as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

By 6.30pm, Network Rail confirmed both issues had been resolved, adding: \u201cGood news. We\u2019ve also removed the cattle from the track near Branchton.
