Peaky Blinders<\/a> star Cillian Murphy has been playing the role of Thomas Shelby since the show first aired in 2013. After the sixth and final season came to end, Murphy dusted off his flat cap once more to appear in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The movie, which is set to be released in March 2026, will take place in 1940s Birmingham as Tommy returns to face his demons and reckon with his legacy. It was serve as the final chapter in Tommy’s story, before the new Peaky Blinders season<\/a> kicks off.

However, while The <\/a>Immortal Man<\/a> marks a significant end to his character’s journey, Murphy didn’t quite get the send-off he was expecting after over a decade in the role. Speaking about shooting the movie, the actor shared how his last scene concluded rather abruptly. <\/p>\n

“We were on the side of a hill in the Peak District somewhere, in the pissing rain, and we were losing the light,” he recalled in an interview with Empire<\/a>. “But it was a really emotional scene.”<\/p>\n

The star then explained that the rest of the cast and crew just drove away after shooting the final moment. “So it was absolutely, completely underwhelming,” he smiled.<\/p>\n

Despite wrapping on filming, Murphy<\/a> said he doesn’t feel as though his time as Tommy has come to an end yet. <\/p>\n

“I don’t think I’m going to be able to process it or think about it until the film comes out, because I believe that a film isn’t finished until people look at it,” he explained. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, franchise creator Steven Knight said he hopes that the movie “feels like the end of a novel” for Peaky Blinders fans. “It’s the last few chapters of a long novel, where you get to round it off. And prepare people for what comes next,” he added.<\/p>\n

Knight will soon introduce fans to a new generation of Shelby, with two more seasons of Peaky Blinders on the way. The show will be set in 1953 and will show Birmingham rising from the ashes, following the events of World War II. <\/p>\n

“The race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart,” teases the synopsis.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/strong> will be released in select cinemas on 6 March 2026 before streaming on Netflix from 20 March.<\/strong><\/p>\n
