EastEnders<\/a> stars Michelle Collins<\/a> and Adam Woodyatt<\/a> have revealed what it was like to film the upcoming flashforward episode<\/a>.<\/p>\n Last month, the BBC<\/a> One soap confirmed that an instalment will air on 2026\u2019s New Year\u2019s Day<\/a>, that\u2019s set in 2027.<\/p>\n It will follow Max Branning<\/a> (Jake Wood<\/a>), as he finds himself in a sticky situation \u2013 one that, in typical Walford fashion, will not only have huge consequences for himself but also for his family.<\/p>\n Multiple events will unfold simultaneously, which means that 2026 will be one to watch for audiences, with many secrets waiting to be discovered alongside a plethora of drama that would be hard for anyone \u2013 yes even Max! \u2013 to talk themselves out of.<\/p>\n The episode in question will provide clues<\/a> about what is yet to unfold for Max \u2013 and those around him \u2013 in 2026, meaning that fans will have plenty to speculate about.<\/p>\n \t\t Discussing the storyline, EastEnders boss Ben Wadey<\/a> said: \u2018For the first time in the show\u2019s history, we\u2019re going to be offering our viewers an entire flashforward episode set on New Year\u2019s Day 2027.<\/p>\n \u20182026 is going to be full of drama in Walford, especially for the Brannings, and the episode is sure to raise plenty of questions on how Max has got himself, and his family, into such predicaments, but all is not what it seems, so stay tuned for 2026 to find out how and why\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n Earlier today, Michelle and Adam, who play Cindy<\/a> and Ian Beale<\/a>, appeared on Scott Mills\u2019 Radio 2 Breakfast Show to discuss what\u2019s ahead for the Albert Square residents over the festive period, and how it was tricky to film the New Year\u2019s Day flashforward.<\/p>\n Adam explained more: \u2018You\u2019re literally thinking, why am I looking at this person? Can\u2019t tell you. Why am I saying this to this person? Can\u2019t tell you. We\u2019re going to go on a journey like the viewers, over the next year, and find out how we\u2019ve ended up at this point.\u2019<\/p>\n \t\t Michelle added: \u2018They only give us the bits that we\u2019re in. I always ask questions, and they were like nope, cannot answer! That is a very weird experience, doing a scene and you don\u2019t know why you\u2019re doing it. It\u2019s very odd.\u2019<\/p>\n Adam pondered over how much he\u2019s looking forward to finding out more storyline information over the course of the year, while Michelle called the episode \u2018brave\u2019.<\/p>\n In the lead up to the episode, focus is on Max, who does a very good job at clashing with everyone he lays his eyes on.<\/p>\n On Christmas Day, the Brannings and Beales prepare to eat Christmas dinner<\/a> together on the big day.
