Noah Okafor could be making himself useful in more ways than one for Leeds United.<\/strong><\/p>\n Dominic Calvert-Lewin stole the headlines for Leeds in their 1-1 draw against Brentford on Sunday, but Okafor was also praised for his performance<\/a>.<\/p>\n The winger has shown promise since arriving in LS11 from AC Milan and has been one of the best signings made by the 49ers this summer.<\/p>\n However, Leeds<\/a> want to improve their squad in January, with Sevilla\u2019s Ruben Vargas<\/a> emerging as a top target for the Whites.<\/p>\n Okafor<\/a> knows Vargas well from their playing time for the Swiss national team, and Daniel Farke<\/a> should be asking his forward to help in any way he can.<\/p>\n Leeds want to stay in the Premier League<\/a>, and to do so, they will need to have a successful January transfer window.<\/p>\n According to Spanish outlet Fichajes<\/a>, after attracting interest from Leeds and other Premier League suitors, Sevilla have placed a \u00a37.8m asking price on Vargas.<\/p>\n Leeds are said to see the price as a clear opportunity in the market, which they want to capitalise on.<\/p>\n Internals at the Spanish side expect that negotiations will \u201caccelerate\u201d in the coming weeks as Leeds will have to battle with Newcastle and Sunderland for the attacker\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n Ruben Vargas\u2019 stats for Seville in La Liga this season<\/strong><\/p>\n Signing Vargas would be a statement of intent from the Whites. The 27-year-old has been performing for both club and country, and it\u2019s no surprise that he is attracting Premier League interest.<\/p>\n Okafor could gain even more brownie points from Leeds supporters if he makes a phone call to Vargas.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n However, considering Leeds\u2019 financial struggles, they will have to sell up in January too.<\/p>\n Joel Piroe\u2019s obvious casualty in January<\/p>\n It\u2019s been said before, but Joel Piroe needs to be sold in January if Leeds are to make the required signings to stay in the top flight.<\/p>\n The Dutchman is a good player, but he\u2019s not quite ready for Premier League football.
