A SELF-styled vigilante\u00a0group has formed to \u201cprotect the people\u201d of Glasgow\u00a0amid fears the area is out of control.<\/p>\n
Around 10 members from ScotsActive\u00a0have started walking around the city centre most evenings from 9.30pm till 2am.<\/p>\n

The Scots team of women and men formed after losing faith in Police Scotland<\/p>\n
The aim is to \u201ckeep the streets safe\u201d and protect women, children<\/a> and vulnerable people at night over fears they could be attacked or targeted by predators.<\/p>\n The group says they decided to start the initiative in August after losing faith in Police Scotland\u2019s presence in the city.<\/p>\n And they claim to have already helped homeless<\/a> people, those attempting to take their own lives and young scared females walking alone in the dark.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the group revealed to The Scottish Sun: \u201cWe have saved multiple people\u2019s lives from suicide, we have stopped women getting followed, we have helped in many situations where women have been under fear and alarm.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t FATAL SMASH<\/p>\n Man, 33, arrested after OAP, 87, dies in horror crash near Scots airport<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/a> \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t TRAGIC BLAZE<\/p>\n Man dies after huge fire tears through Scots flat as two rushed to hospital<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n ScotsActive formed in August after losing faith in Police<\/a> Scotland<\/a>\u2018s presence in Glasgow<\/a>. <\/p>\n A member for ScotsActive said: \u201cWe encountered two women who were frightened as a man was watching and pestering them. <\/p>\n \u201cSome of our team members walked the two ladies to their house as they were too frightened to walk by themselves. <\/p>\n \u201cThe man that was following was later found hiding in a bushed area.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMost read in The Scottish Sun\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n ScotsActive\u2019s nightly route includes going up and around Clydeside, Renfrew Street, Glasgow Green and the Barras.\u00a0<\/p>\n And locals have flooded the footage with support, thanks and even offering their help. <\/p>\n One female commented: \u201cTo each and everyone of you, thank you for trying to protect our woman and girls and for saving the young girl.\u201d<\/p>\n Another said: \u201cWell done guys and thank you for keeping us safe. Police Scotland<\/a> you should be ashamed. These men will soon take over as we have no faith in the police anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n Hundreds of locals have commented with their support for ScotsActive on social media<\/p>\n Tory MSP for Glasgow, Annie Wells, said many locals feel Glasgow is at \u201cbreaking point\u201d and blamed Police Scotland\u2019s budget cuts for the formation of ScotsActive. <\/p>\n She said: \u201cSavage SNP cuts to local councils and public services mean many people feel like Glasgow is at breaking point. <\/p>\n \u201cIt should never have reached a point where some feel like they have no option but to take matters into their own hands. <\/p>\n \u201cSNP ministers should ensure that those fully qualified to do so have the resources they need to keep people safe in the city, particularly at night-time.\u201d<\/p>\n Last month we reported on several cases of women being raped in the streets of Glasgow.<\/p>\n Cops were rushed to Sauchiehall Lane after reports of an alleged early morning horror sex attack. <\/a><\/p>\n Sex predator Mihai Nicolae Patran was jailed for nine years after raping a doctor on Mitchell Street. <\/a><\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/side-police-scotland-vehicle-parked-968455548_3f5dd9.jpg\"\/)
