{"id":634908,"date":"2025-12-15T23:37:20","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:37:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/634908\/"},"modified":"2025-12-15T23:37:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:37:20","slug":"plea-over-religious-sensibilities-after-sara-sharif-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/634908\/","title":{"rendered":"Plea over &#8216;religious sensibilities&#8217; after Sara Sharif review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">November&#8217;s child safeguarding practice review found Sara had &#8220;effectively disappeared&#8221; once she was home -schooled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Her former school gave the council Sara&#8217;s new address in Woking so workers could make a home visit as required by its home-schooling policy, but the system was not updated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It meant that when the home education team went to her old address when they tried to visit on 7 August 2023 &#8211; the day before she was murdered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Sara was hooded, burned and beaten during the campaign of abuse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The review said a post-mortem examination found she had suffered dozens of injuries &#8211; and bruising was first noticed in June 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It was commissioned by the Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership, which is made up of police, local health organisations and the council&#8217;s children&#8217;s services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"November&#8217;s child safeguarding practice review found Sara had &#8220;effectively disappeared&#8221; once she was home -schooled.
