Emergency services<\/a>, including firearms officers, swooped in on Drumlaken Street in Glasgow at around 9.50am this morning, December 15. Officers confirmed they attended an address in connection with an ‘ongoing incident’, a disturbance shortly followed.<\/p>\nSeveral surrounding streets have now re-opened, including Caldercuilt Road, between Arrochar Street and Rothes Drive, and Arrochar Street at Drumlaken Street. Evacuated locals were told to take shelter in a community centre and have since been able to return to their homes at around 7.15pm.<\/p>\n

In a recent update, Police Scotland confirmed a 56-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and there is now “no wider risk to the public”.<\/p>\n
Sergeant Jono Adams added: \u201cI\u2019d like to thank the local community for their support and patience while officers were in attendance.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile enquiries remain ongoing, there is no longer disruption to the area and no wider risk to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n
Images showed a large emergency response in the area. One picture shows police cordon, taping off part of the street with two police cars parked nearby, and a uniformed officer standing guard.<\/p>\n

Another shows a firefighter at the scene holding a torch as darkness fell. A fire appliance could also be seen with a large amount of emergency service officers at the scene.<\/p>\n
A council spokesperson said: “Residents displaced from properties on Drumlaken St, Summerston, should now be able to return home.
