{"id":635117,"date":"2025-12-16T01:57:16","date_gmt":"2025-12-16T01:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/635117\/"},"modified":"2025-12-16T01:57:16","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T01:57:16","slug":"us-suspends-technology-deal-with-britain-ft-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/635117\/","title":{"rendered":"US suspends technology deal with Britain, FT reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dec 15 (Reuters) &#8211; The United States has suspended a technology deal it struck \u200bwith Britain earlier this year, which was \u200cintended to boost ties in <a href=\"https:\/\/tech.yahoo.com\/ai\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:artificial intelligence;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">artificial intelligence<\/a>, quantum computing \u200cand civil nuclear energy, the Financial Times reported on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">British officials on Monday confirmed the U.S. suspended the deal last week, the FT \u2060said, adding \u200cthat U.S. President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration was pushing for Britain&#8217;s concessions in \u200dareas of trade outside the tech partnership.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">U.S. officials were becoming increasingly frustrated with Britain&#8217;s lack of willingness \u200bto address so-called non-tariff barriers, including rules \u200cand regulations governing food and industrial goods, the FT said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Reuters could not immediately verify the report.
