Residents in Glasgow who were evacuated<\/a> earlier in the day have been told they can return home after armed cops swooped on the area. Armed police are at the scene on Drumlaken Street in Summerston<\/a> after being called out at 9.50am on Monday.<\/p>\n

Police <\/a>confirmed they were in the area in response to an incident in connection with an ongoing investigation. Several surrounding streets, including Caldercuilt Road, between Arrochar Street<\/a> and Rothes Drive, and Arrochar Street at Drumlaken Street, were closed.<\/p>\n

Locals were told to take shelter in a community centre. But hours later, Glasgow City Council advised residents on social media they were able to return to their homes<\/a> at around 7.15pm.<\/p>\n

Images showed a large emergency<\/a> response in the area. One picture shows police cordon<\/a>, taping off part of the street with two police cars parked nearby, and a uniformed officer standing guard.<\/p>\n

Another shows a firefighter<\/a> at the scene holding a torch as darkness fell. A fire appliance could also be seen with a large amount of emergency service officers at the scene.<\/p>\n

A council spokesperson said: “Residents displaced from properties on Drumlaken St, Summerston, should now be able to return home. The temporary rest centre at Bellcraig Community Centre has now closed.”<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cAround 9.50am on Monday, 15 December, 2025, officers attended an address on Drumlaken Street in Glasgow in connection with an ongoing investigation. Police<\/a>, including firearms officers, remain at the scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cA number of nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution.
