Manchester City have \u2013 surprisingly \u2013 been linked with a move for Marcus Rashford.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Daily Mail<\/a> state that Dwaine Maynard \u2013 brother and agent of the England international \u2013 sat next to Hugo Viana and Txiki Begiristain at the recent Premier League clash between Manchester City<\/a> and Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium<\/a>, which ended in a 2-1 win thanks to a late goal from Matheus Nunes.<\/p>\n

It is said that Rashford wants to join a side who can offer UEFA Champions League football should he leave Old Trafford this summer, and is reluctant to move to London.<\/p>\n

As the Manchester United academy graduate strangely finds himself linked to Manchester City, let\u2019s take a look at what he has previously said about the Citizens.<\/p>\n

What Marcus Rashford has said about Manchester City<\/p>\n

It would be even more of a shock to see Rashford join Manchester City when you consider what the 27-year-old has previously said.<\/p>\n

The Aston Villa No.9 said back in June 2023 that is was \u201cnot nice\u201d to see Manchester City win the treble, revealing: \u201cTo be honest, it\u2019s not nice, but at the same time it\u2019s football. The best team that\u2019s consistently playing the best football is going to win the most trophies and they\u2019ve managed to win three this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell done to them and we just move on now and it\u2019s up to them to keep it up, and it\u2019s up to the rest of us to try and catch them up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rashford also spoke about Manchester City \u2013 who want Florian Wirtz<\/a> \u2013 on the\u00a0Uninterrupted\u00a0podcast back in July 2022 when asked if there are any clubs he hates, saying: \u201cYeah Liverpool. I don\u2019t like Liverpool. City. <\/p>\n

\u201cLiverpool have history so it\u2019s a bit more bitter, but with City it\u2019s like you don\u2019t like them, but you don\u2019t have a massive reason not to like them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Marcus Rashford doubled down when speaking to Gary Neville<\/p>\n

Rashford \u2013 whose situation has been likened to that of Jack Grealish<\/a> \u2013 expanded on this during a chat with Gary Neville on The Overlap in August 2023.<\/p>\n

When asked who he dislikes more between Manchester City and Liverpool, the striker said: \u201cLiverpool. I don\u2019t like either of them. I dislike Liverpool more.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

By that logic, a move to Manchester City would be less of a surprise than a switch to Anfield, although either seem highly unlikely to ever materialise based on what Rashford has said.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Aston Villa hold a \u00a340m option to buy Rashford from Manchester United this summer, so if the Villans qualify for the UEFA Champions League and keep the forward happy in the Midlands, we see no reason why that deal wouldn\u2019t materialise. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Manchester City have \u2013 surprisingly \u2013 been linked with a move for Marcus Rashford.
