SEE KENNEDY NEWS COPY - 0161 697 4266\" decoding=\"sync\"\/><br \/>\n\t\tThe family of eight said they were not happy with the food and service (Picture: Kennedy News and Media)<\/p>\n<p>A family of eight allegedly refused to pay their \u00a3300 bill at a restaurant saying they were not happy with the food, despite having just ordered extra to take home.<\/p>\n<p>The family had eaten at Jemeira Indian Restaurant in Staplehurst, Kent on March 16, when they told staff they would not be paying, according to manager Faheem Ahmed. <\/p>\n<p>He said they told staff they were \u2018not happy with the meal or service\u2019 before becoming \u2018aggressive, intimidating and abusive\u2019 to staff.<\/p>\n<p>Faheem said the group, made up of four adults and four children, had finished a selection of main dishes and when asked by waiters, said they were \u2018happy\u2019 with them.<\/p>\n<p>The family proceeded to order more food to take away and after receiving it refused to pay the bill. <\/p>\n<p>They eventually left \u00a330 before leaving. <\/p>\n<p>The police were contacted but said they couldn\u2019t do anything as it was a civil matter. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Frustrated\u2019 Faheem, who wasn\u2019t on shift that night, believes the \u2018cheeky\u2019 family noticed there were no managers present so felt they could \u2018get away with\u2019 not paying.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"890\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_245800112-6b11.jpg\" class=\"article-image wp-image-22820608\" alt=\"PIC FROM Kennedy News and Media (PICTURED: 'SHAMELESS' FAMILY REFUSING TO PAY DUE TO NOT LIKING FOOD IN RESTAURANT)A restaurant manager has slammed customers who refused to pay ?300 bill despite finishing their food and ordering a separate takeaway. \u2018dining and dashing\u2019 (Picture: Kennedy News and Media)<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It got to a point when it was quite heated, they started using abusive language.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He said staff decided not to push it further as \u2018with them being a large group they were quite intimidating\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u2018They literally got \u00a330, put it there and just left.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The managers were not there, it was just staff so maybe they knew they could get away with something like this.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Faheem posted CCTV images of the family on social media and said the response from the community had been \u2018amazing\u2019, with many criticising the customers\u2019 behaviour.<\/p>\n<p>He said he wants to raise awareness of \u2018dine and dash\u2019 incidents, which he says are happening at many restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>Faheem added: \u2018We\u2019ve been in the trade for more than 20 years and we have an established restaurant in the area so we\u2019re not going to die over \u00a3300 but it\u2019s the principle.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The amount of people that have walked in saying how sorry they felt and how sorry they were for the actions of this group of people.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I feel like the whole of Kent has seen the post so it\u2019s amazing what social media can do nowadays.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We\u2019re not going to hunt them down, it\u2019s just to raise awareness.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It is going to come back to them one day.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Their families will know what they\u2019ve done seeing them all over Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We just won an award and, if you see our reviews, we\u2019re always maintaining our food and our service above and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This is not just happening to just us, it\u2019s happening somewhere as we speak but you shouldn\u2019t let anyone get away with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Kent Police spokesperson said: \u2018Kent Police received a report of theft from a restaurant in The Parade,\u00a0Staplehurst, which is alleged to have occurred at around 8.50pm on Sunday, 16 March 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Following an investigation and review of CCTV available, officers determined the
