Birmingham<\/a> City have endured a challenging campaign to date as they look to make a statement on the rise from League One. BCFC talked a big game and spent well in the summer transfer window<\/a> but have perhaps underperformed a bit to date.<\/p>\n

The Blues sit 13th in the table, five points off the play-off spots. With just one win in the last five, Chris Davies will be determined to oversee an upturn in form.<\/p>\n

The Birmingham<\/a> City squad was built for Championship football over the 2024\/25 campaign and they only strengthened further in the summer. However, as January nears, more additions are being targeted.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/a> claims that three new signings are wanted at St. Andrew\u2019s in the upcoming transfer window<\/a>. Another striker, a midfielder and left-back cover are set to be sought by the Blues.<\/p>\n

The positions Birmingham<\/a> City want to strengthen with three signings eyed<\/p>\n

There will be intrigue over the positions targeted by Birmingham<\/a> City ahead of January.<\/p>\n

Left-back is not a surprise. Alex Cochrane<\/a> has been the only natural in that position due to Lee Buchanan\u2019s continued injury absence, so some cover and competition is required there when the transfer window comes around.<\/p>\n

Tommy Doyle<\/a> joined Tomoki Iwata, Paik Seung-ho and Marc Leonard as the main central midfield options in the summer. Japanese star Iwata has successfully shifted to right-back<\/a> though, so it is not a surprise another addition is on the radar there.<\/p>\n

Striker will be the position of most contention given the \u00a310m Kyogo Furuhashi<\/a> move in the summer and Marvin Ducksch\u2019s presence. The German has formed a solid partnership with Jay Stansfield through the middle but Furuhashi is yet to score in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Lyndon Dykes has expressed a desire to play regularly<\/a> ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Perhaps an addition is wanted to pave the way for him to move on from BCFC.<\/p>\n

Decisive January transfer window nears for Birmingham<\/a> City<\/p>\n

Birmingham<\/a> City will be one of several Championship sides viewing January as a huge opportunity. Multiple clubs in the mid-table and play-off chasing pack will feel a handful of additions could be the difference between mediocrity and success.<\/p>\n

Three signings across the attack, midfield and defence could give the Blues the depth they need to charge towards the top six in the New Year.<\/p>\n
