BCFC talked a big game and spent well in the <a href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/2025\/09\/02\/birmingham-city-transfers-every-deal-done-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">summer transfer window<\/a> but have perhaps underperformed a bit to date.<\/p>\n<p>The Blues sit 13th in the table, five points off the play-off spots. However, as January nears, more additions are being targeted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.footballinsider247.com\/exclusive-birmingham-citys-three-man-january-signing-plan-revealed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Football Insider<\/a> claims that three new signings are wanted at St. Andrew\u2019s in the <a href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/2025\/12\/13\/birmingham-city-january-transfer-moves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">upcoming transfer window<\/a>. Another striker, a midfielder and left-back cover are set to be sought by the Blues.<\/p>\n<p>The positions <a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/category\/birmingham-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> City want to strengthen with three signings eyed<\/p>\n<p>There will be intrigue over the positions targeted by <a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/category\/birmingham-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> City ahead of January.<\/p>\n<p>Left-back is not a surprise. <a href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/2025\/12\/04\/birmingham-city-the-best-player-alex-cochrane-has-played-with\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alex Cochrane<\/a> has been the only natural in that position due to Lee Buchanan\u2019s continued injury absence, so some cover and competition is required there when the transfer window comes around.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"578\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2025-02-08T194938Z_465448987_UP1EL281J2OLX_RTRMADP_3_SOCCER-ENGLAND-BIR-NEW-REPORT-900x578.jpg\" alt=\"BCFC - Birmingham City duo Alfie May and Alex Cochrane\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Image courtesy of: ISABEL INFANTES\/REUTERS.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/cgq7njk584ko\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tommy Doyle<\/a> joined Tomoki Iwata, Paik Seung-ho and Marc Leonard as the main central midfield options in the summer. <a href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/2025\/12\/01\/birmingham-city-chris-davies-new-dilemma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Japanese star Iwata has successfully shifted to right-back<\/a> though, so it is not a surprise another addition is on the radar there.<\/p>\n<p>Striker will be the position of most contention given the <a href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/2025\/12\/15\/birmingham-city-opinion-davies-kyogo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a310m Kyogo Furuhashi<\/a> move in the summer and Marvin Ducksch\u2019s presence. The German has formed a solid partnership with Jay Stansfield through the middle but Furuhashi is yet to score in the Championship.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/2025\/12\/09\/birmingham-city-lyndon-dykes-transfer-hint-game-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lyndon Dykes has expressed a desire to play regularly<\/a> ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Perhaps an addition is wanted to pave the way for him to move on from BCFC.<\/p>\n<p>Decisive January transfer window nears for <a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/category\/birmingham-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> City<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"lar-automated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/the72.co.uk\/category\/birmingham-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> City will be one of several Championship sides viewing January as a huge opportunity.
