A man and a woman were rushed to hospital after a two-car collision outside a Birmingham<\/a> Marks & Spencer branch.<\/p>\n

The collision happened on Longbridge High Street<\/a>, outside the store, at 2.36pm today, Tuesday, December 16.<\/p>\n

Paramedics treated the man for ‘potentially serious injuries’ at the scene before he was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital<\/a> on blue lights.<\/p>\n

The woman, a passenger in one of the cars, was treated for injuries not thought to be serious.<\/p>\n

She was taken to the same hospital.<\/p>\n

A driver of a car involved in the collision stopped at the scene and was helping officers with their enquiries.<\/p>\n

A West Midlands Ambulance Service<\/a> spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian on High Street at 2.36pm and sent two ambulances, three paramedic officers and the critical care car to the scene.<\/p>\n

“On arrival crews found a man, the pedestrian, who they treated for potentially serious injuries before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.<\/p>\n

“A woman, a passenger in one of the cars, was treated for injuries believed not to be serious and was also conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”<\/p>\n

A West Midlands Police<\/a> spokesperson added: “We were called to Longbridge High Street shortly after 2.30pm today after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. Officers attended and a man was taken to hospital, though his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n
