One of Vladimir Putin’s propagandists has issued a chilling threat to Europe as he listed the capital cities that could be targeted as fears of WW3 continue mounting.<\/p>\n
TV host Vladimir Solovyov<\/a> took to the airwaves to threaten the West once again, mentioning the likes of Berlin, Paris and Vienna as potential targets, should Russia<\/a> launch an attack. The latest threat comes just days after Solovyov said the presence of British armed forces<\/a> in Ukraine<\/a> amounts to a “casus belli” for a nuclear strike on the UK.<\/p>\n The leading Kremlin propagandist told viewers on his nightly show that “a nuclear strike on Britain is inevitable”. The threat has renewed fears of a widespread conflict, which could have implications worldwide.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Germany issues ‘we will retaliate’ threat to Putin as WW3 fears spiral<\/a> Solovyov said today: “Once again we will have to destroy Berlin<\/a>, and enter this godforsaken city. Once again we will have to enter Paris<\/a>. Once again we will have to liberate Vienna. Well perhaps the Austrians<\/a> will reconsider.”<\/p>\n He added: “It doesn’t mean that we want this. But one of the principles postulated by our supreme commander-in-chief is when we are forced to act then we act. First, of course, the principle of ‘do no harm’ but then…please don’t blame us.”<\/p>\n The UK Ministry of Defence<\/a> said last week that paratrooper George Hooley, 28, had been killed in Ukraine away from front lines while observing Ukrainian forces testing a defensive capability. Historian Andrey Sidorov, another Putin cheerleader, said on state TV: “This incident should be considered a casus belli, when the British Ministry of Defence officially acknowledged the death of its military personnel on active duty on Ukrainian territory.”<\/p>\n He demanded the Russian foreign ministry summons British ambassador Nigel Casey “to explain what an active-duty military officer was doing there”. Sidorov told Solovyov: “Well, we might as well launch a nuclear strike on the UK. This can really be considered a casus belli, just like the plundering of our sovereign assets.<\/p>\n “This is official, he is a member of the British armed forces who died on the territory of Ukraine, which is in conflict with us. So we can assume that there is a British military contingent there, which is fighting against the Russian army.”<\/p>\n Western intelligence agencies have warned that Moscow is stepping up its hybrid war attacks on Europe. They claim the Kremlin is preparing for war with NATO and say Putin could be ready to attack by as early as 2029, the Express<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n The Russian president has done little to ease fears that he harbours even greater ambitions should his forces prevail in Ukraine. And when asked to comment on recent remarks by the Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who claimed Europe was preparing a war against Russia<\/a>, Putin threatened: “If Europe suddenly wants to start a war with us and starts it, then it would end so swiftly for Europe that Russia would have no one left to negotiate with.”<\/p>\n German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said his country would retaliate against Russian aggression and attacks. Speaking on ZDF television, the politician described the recent diplomatic efforts in Berlin aimed at ending the war in Ukraine as a major success. The Chancellor said the talks had “brought significant progress” particularly regarding the willingness of the US to join Europe in providing security guarantees for Ukraine after a ceasefire.<\/p>\n During an appearance on the programme “What now, Mr. Merz?”, the German leader said: “We even talked about Article 5-like security guarantee.” NATO’s Article 5 is the cornerstone of the alliance, stating that an armed attack against one member is considered an attack against all, obligating other members to take action, including armed force if necessary, to restore security.<\/p>\n It has been invoked only once in the alliance’s history, following the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States.
