Death In Paradise fans were thrilled when the\u00a0BBC<\/a> shared news about series 15 with a first look image.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The wildly popular drama sees a string of detectives tackle crime<\/a>\u00a0on the tropical island of Saint Marie.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Season 14 wrapped up last month with a dramatic finale and saw\u00a0Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, played by Don Warrington, prepare to leave his role in the police department.<\/p>\n

Now, fans have received an update on the next instalment from producers.<\/p>\n

The Death In Paradise social media account on X shared a photograph of a clapboard on a beach.<\/p>\n

It attracted thousands of likes and many comments from eager viewers of the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They confirmed that filming for season 15 had already started.<\/p>\n

It was captioned: ‘We’re back in paradise!\u00a0Filming has begun this week in Guadeloupe on the brand-new series of\u00a0#DeathInParadise.’<\/p>\n

Excited fans rushed to comment on the news and gushed: ‘Fabulous can’t wait for the new series.’<\/p>\n

‘Excellent news! I was watching the repeat yesterday.’<\/p>\n

‘The last series was the best… More of the same please. All the Best…’\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Wow, that’s excellent news. Good luck with the filming.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

Excited fans rushed to comment on the news while some expressed how they hoped to see Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (left)\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘It\u2019s going to be odd without the Commissioner.’<\/p>\n

During a previous instalment it was revealed that Selwyn would be ‘phased out’ of the police team because of budgeting.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Of the cuts, Commissioner Selwyn said: ‘I’m afraid they can, and they are.’<\/p>\n

The officer had been in the show since 2011 and some fans were reeling about his possible departure.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One viewer posted on X: ‘Why Death In Paradise’s massive bombshell could completely change the show Is Commissioner Selwyn leaving the show? If they remove the Excellent role of #CommissionerSelwyn, #DeathInParadise will no longer be a show worth watching. It will be Trash.’<\/p>\n

‘I’m getting so worried for Selwyn. I’m sure they’ll end up saving his job at the last minute but seeing him like this is upsetting. I need someone to go to the HQ in Jamaica and do something #DeathInParadise.’<\/p>\n
