International solar development platform ib vogt has completed the sale of its 95.18 MWp Baobab Solar photovoltaic project located in Segovia, Spain, to EOS NER Solar Espa\u00f1a S.L., a subsidiary of Swiss independent power producer EOS NER, which is wholly owned by EOS Holding.<\/p>\n

The transaction marks a key milestone in EOS NER\u2019s expansion strategy in the Iberian renewable energy market and further strengthens ib vogt\u2019s track record as a leading solar project developer in the region.<\/p>\n

The Baobab Solar project is expected to generate around 190 GWh of clean electricity annually, enough to supply power to more than 55,000 households. The project will help avoid approximately 19,000 tonnes of CO\u2082 emissions per year, equivalent to offsetting the carbon footprint of about 16,000 tonnes of oil consumption annually. The asset is supported by a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), providing long-term revenue stability and supply certainty for EOS NER Solar Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

Technologically, the project deploys bifacial solar modules combined with single-axis tracking systems, optimising energy yield. It also offers future potential for hybridisation with battery energy storage systems (BESS), which could enhance grid flexibility, resilience, and unlock additional revenue streams.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the transaction, Andreas Schell, CEO of ib vogt, said that the sale reflects strong institutional confidence in the company\u2019s renewable energy pipeline and its capability to deliver large-scale, economically sustainable infrastructure. He added that Baobab Solar highlights ib vogt\u2019s integrated development approach, combining financial discipline, advanced technology, and operational excellence.<\/p>\n

Baobab Solar is part of a broader 513.1 MWp solar cluster in Segovia developed by ib vogt, contributing to Spain\u2019s 2050 climate neutrality goals and its transition towards 100% renewable electricity generation.<\/p>\n

Under the agreement, ib vogt will continue to provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Asset Management services for the project, ensuring long-term performance optimisation and asset value preservation.<\/p>\n

The acquisition represents EOS NER\u2019s second renewable energy investment in Spain, underlining its long-term strategy to expand its European renewable portfolio across solar, wind, and BESS assets, and reflecting growing interest from independent power producers in high-quality, long-term renewable infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Environmental stewardship was a key element of the project\u2019s development. ib vogt carried out detailed environmental assessments and implemented biodiversity measures, including the creation of two dedicated ponds for amphibians and wildlife, installation of owl nesting boxes, and plantation of native species such as holm oak and aromatic plants to support ecosystem connectivity.<\/p>\n

Legal advisory services for the transaction were provided by Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer on the sell side and Garrigues on the buy side.<\/p>\n
