The investigation into the death of Merseyside teenager Harry Begg is still ongoing more than two weeks on, Spanish police have confirmed. Harry, 19, from Kirkby<\/a>, was killed in a road traffic crash in Tenerife<\/a> on December 1. He was reportedly cycling at the time.<\/p>\n Spanish police did not respond when asked by the ECHO<\/a> to confirm local reports that the car failed to stop at the scene or that the incident is being treated as murder<\/a>. Spanish police<\/a> did not respond when asked if any arrests had been made.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil said: \u201cThe investigation that is being carried out has not yet concluded; it is still ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n Tributes have been paid online to Harry, with one describing him as the “most amazing special person.”<\/p>\n Harry had been cycling on the road in Arona in the south of the island when the collision occurred. The alarm was raised at around 8pm.<\/p>\n Tragically, Harry died at the scene.<\/p>\n Local reports on Sunday described the incident as a \u201chit-and-run<\/a>\u201d and island newspaper El Dia said the Civil Guard was investigating whether the British man had been \u201cmurdered<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n The newspaper said: \u201cAfter initial inquiries officers reached the early conclusion that he wasn\u2019t run over by accident.\u201d<\/p>\n Roadside tributes were left around a palm tree close to the scene. Flowers, candles and a Liverpool shirt were left, along with a message that read: \u201cI love you forever wee bro.\u201d<\/p>\n A Foreign Office spokesperson said: \u201cWe are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.\u201d<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the Spanish force earlier said: \u201cI confirm the death of a person in a traffic accident.<\/p>\n “The investigation is ongoing, so we cannot provide further information about it at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n Do you have a information, a tip or a story?
