Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> administrators Begbies Traynor are yet to receive an offer they deem suitable to grant exclusivity, according to Sky Sports\u2019 Rob Dorsett<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> entered administration in late-October<\/a> and have been waiting for a new owner since. Dejphon Chansiri<\/a> was ousted and SWFC have had no shortage of interest from potential takeover parties across the world.<\/p>\n

However, the search has dragged on a little longer than expected. There was a desire to name a preferred bidder<\/a> by December 5th, and while not a hard deadline, it was hoped a party would have been granted exclusivity in an Owls takeover pursuit by now.<\/p>\n

In a fresh update, Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett<\/a> has said the ongoing wait is not thought to be a major problem as talks continue. This is despite the desire to name the preferred bidder last week.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a>\u2019s administrators are yet to receive an offer they feel is suitable enough to grant exclusivity.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> takeover process is not one to rush<\/p>\n

There have been some rumblings of frustration among sections of the Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> fanbase over the delays in their takeover pursuit. Given the extent of interest and some of the target dates set that have been missed, there is a little concern.<\/p>\n

However, caution is absolutely paramount in this process. Despite Chansiri\u2019s exit, SWFC are still a club in a very unstable position, and the choice over their next owner has to be right.<\/p>\n

Begbies Traynor don\u2019t simply want to shift the Owls off to the party offering the most money. They have stressed the next ownership group needs to have sound plans for the long-term and, most importantly, proof that they have and can maintain the financial backing to come good on those visions.<\/p>\n

As negotiations continue and bids continue to come in, there is a lot to consider at SWFC. Nonetheless, it will be hoped a preferred bidder<\/a> can be named sooner rather than later to offer some much-needed clarity on the club\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

Takeover limbo is not helping Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> players<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no hiding that this season is a write-off for Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> in terms of survival. Even without their total of 18 points deducted, SWFC have won just once in 20 games. They sit on -9 points and a whopping 29 away from safety.<\/p>\n

Henrik Pedersen has done what he can to keep his players fighting but there are already signs that this is affecting the players. While injuries persist, the squad is one that looks drained from fighting against the odds every week.<\/p>\n

Some clarity and meaningful progress on the takeover front could give the Owls players something new to fight for.
