A Mercedes has been drenched in paint and had its windows smashed<\/a> in what residents have branded \u201cGlasgow\u2019s worst street to park\u201d.<\/p>\n

Contin Place, just off Garrioch Road beside Maryhill\u2019s<\/a> Tesco Extra, has been hit by a spate of vehicle vandalism over the past year, with some locals now choosing to park further from their homes to avoid the area.<\/p>\n

The latest attack left a black Mercedes<\/a> splattered in white paint, with its windows smashed and tyres slashed. A neighbouring vehicle was also targeted, with all four tyres deflated.<\/p>\n

Photos from the scene show blue and white police tape stretched across the Mercedes\u2019 windscreen. Residents say the incident is far from isolated on the narrow lane, which is bordered by high walls on one side and a fenced-off wooded area on the other, with a block of flats at the end.<\/p>\n

One Maryhill resident, who lives just off Contin Place on Garrioch Road, told Glasgow Live<\/a> they have witnessed a series of similar attacks \u2014 including having their own number plates stolen in broad daylight last month.<\/p>\n

They said: \u201cI went down to get in my car for work and noticed a black Mercedes at the bottom of the street had been badly vandalised. It had white paint poured over it and the windows were smashed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI then ran into my neighbour, who had stopped in the middle of the road with her hazards on after getting into her car and realising all her tyres had been slashed.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the same street, my own number plates were stolen just over a month ago. Earlier in the year, I also saw a young girl \u2014 I think she was a student \u2014 who found her back window smashed for no apparent reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

The resident said they had parked their black Volkswagen Golf on Contin Place for just a few hours during the day before returning around 6pm to discover both the front and rear number plates had been removed.<\/p>\n

They added: \u201cI\u2019ve stopped parking there altogether. I honestly think it\u2019s the worst street to park in Glasgow.\u201d<\/p>\n
