Mark Hamill<\/a> recently opened up about whether or not the star would ever return to the world of Star Wars<\/a> and reprise his role as Luke Skywalker.<\/p>\n

What did Mark Hamill say about a potential return to Luke Skywalker?<\/p>\n

Speaking to CBS Mornings in a recent interview, Hamill was asked about the possibility of returning. The Luke Skywalker actor noted that he believes his character\u2019s time in the franchise is done after his brief roles in the sequel trilogy, which included two cameos and a larger role in 2017\u2019s Star Wars: The Last Jedi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ve had my time. Especially in\u2026the middle one, I\u2019m only in cameos in [Episode 7] and [Episode 9]. The only time he was part of the narrative was in Episode 8, and they wrapped up my story. I think it\u2019s funny that people miss the irony that he died from an overdose of the Force,\u201d said Hamill.<\/p>\n

Hamill went on to joke that he didn\u2019t even know that was possible, and then mentioned that despite it all, he is content not coming back, as he\u2019d prefer a nice exit to something like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, who knew that was even a thing? Don\u2019t you think if there was even a marginal chance that using the Force could be lethal, Obi-Wan would\u2019ve said \u2018Use the Force in moderation, Luke?\u2019 Or Yoda would\u2019ve said \u2018Overdo Force projection, you must not?\u2019 Nobody warned me! But obviously, they concluded his story, he died. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I thought\u2026in fact, not only did I think that was the right time to leave that franchise, I thought that\u2019s a nice exit. Because as much as you enjoy a good entrance, you want to dignify a good exit,\u201d Hamill said.<\/p>\n

Hamill\u2019s issues with The Last Jedi have been well documented, with the star not-so-subtly noting that he wasn\u2019t fully happy about what happened to Skywalker in the film.
