The short video shows the bus next to the busy North Circular A406 at New Southgate in North <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/london\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a>, burning at the side of the road whilst plumes of smoke billow into the air.\u00a0 <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/fire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fierce flames<\/a> are erupting from the rear of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>One user of X, <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/wardo2412\" rel=\"nofollow\">Matt<\/a>, shared the dramatic clip, commenting: &#8220;Double Decker bus on fire with blazing flames, near Colney Hatch Lane, N10.&#8221; Another shared a picture of the bus at 7.31pm, adding: &#8220;Suggest colleagues avoid the North Circular eastbound at Friern Barnet.<\/p>\n<p>A policeman is in the foreground, running towards the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: &#8220;Firefighters were called to a bus alight on Atlas Road in New Southgate this evening. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Most of the double-decker bus was damaged by fire.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One man left the bus before the Brigade arrived.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were no reports of any injuries.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Atlas Road is a small road directly next to the A406, which straddles north London.<\/p>\n<p>The Brigade\u2019s Control Officers took the first of eight calls to the fire at 7.27pm and the fire was under control by 8.03pm, the spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n<p>Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Finchley and Hornsey fire stations attended the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A TfL spokesperson said: \u201cA bus fire occurred on the A406 Pinkham Way, thankfully the bus was not in service at the time and there were no passengers on board with no injuries reported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are working with the fire brigade and the bus operator, Arriva London, to establish what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Express.co.uk has also contacted the Metropolitan Police for more details.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A shocking clip of a double-decker bus ablaze has been posted online.
