Drivers faced long delays on the M6 near Birmingham after a police-led incident.<\/p>\n
It happened at around 9am today, Thursday, December 18, on the southbound carriageway between Junction 7, for Great Barr, and Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction) for the A38(M) to Birmingham city centre<\/a> and for Sutton Coldfield<\/a> and Erdington<\/a>.<\/p>\n West Midlands Roads reported queuing traffic in both directions following the incident.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Major new plans for Birmingham shopping centre car park<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Get breaking news on BirminghamLive WhatsApp<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The southbound carriageway was blocked, leading to six-mile queues back to Junction 10 for Walsall<\/a> and Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n The northbound carriageway was reopened but one lane of the southbound carriageway remained shut.<\/p>\n National Highways said: \u201cLane 4 (of 4) is closed on the M6 southbound between J7 and J6 due for recovery of a car following a police led incident.
