Surprisingly, it is not particularly cold or rainy. That is good for our energy bills, which skyrocketed in 2022, when the war in Ukraine triggered a gas crisis. Our gas bills now are not as high as in 2022 \u2013 but are still far higher than in the years before the Russian aggression.<\/p>\n
I meant to start by talking about December as a month packed with conferences, high-level meetings and last-minute budget spending splurges across EU institutions and other organisations with headquarters in the European capital.<\/p>\n
But something else stole the headlines: another \u201c-gate\u201d scandal has hit the European capital, nicknamed, EEAS-gate.<\/p>\n
