\n\tGillian Anderson<\/a> is teasing a conversation he had with director Ryan Coogler<\/a> about the X-Files reboot he is developing.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a new interview, the star of the Fox series who played Agent Dana Scully gave insight into her conversation with Coogler.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI spoke to him, and what I said was, \u2018If anyone were to do it, I think you are the perfect person and best of luck, call me,\u2019\u201d Anderson said on ITV1\u2019s This Morning while promoting her latest film The Salt Path. \u201cAt some point, if the phone rings and it\u2019s good and it feels like the right time \u2014 perhaps.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCoogler recently provided an update on the development of\u00a0X-Files<\/a>\u00a0during an appearance on\u00a0Last Podcast on the Left,\u00a0stating that he had spoken to Anderson.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve been excited about that for a long time, and I\u2019m fired up to get back to it. Some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really f\u2014ing scary,\u201d he teased, adding: \u201cWe\u2019re gonna try to make something really great, bro, and really be something for the real X Files fans, and maybe find some new ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA year ago, Anderson discussed the\u00a0Sinners\u00a0director helming the project,\u00a0say<\/a>ing on the\u00a0Today\u00a0show\u00a0that she \u201ccannot think of a better way\u00a0<\/a>for a reboot to happen,\u201d calling the filmmaker \u201ca bit of a genius.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhether I am involved in it is a whole other thing. I\u2019m not saying no,\u201d she added. \u201cI think he\u2019s really cool and I think if he did it, it would probably be done incredibly well. And maybe I\u2019ll pop in for a little something something.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe X-Files<\/a> premiered in 1993, starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Special Agents Mulder and Scully, respectively. For 11 seasons, the duo investigated cases involving the paranormal and led to two feature films in 1998 and 2008\u2019s The X-Files: I Want to Believe.<\/p>\n
