The new live streaming offering extends the reach of Edinburgh\u2019s Hogmanay celebrations beyond the Capital, sharing the city\u2019s music, culture and atmosphere with a global audience.  &#13;To mark the announcement, members of Tinderbox Orchestra, plus award-winning fiddler and First Footin\u2019 co-curator Aidan O\u2019Rourke and classical pianist and talented singer-songwriter Chiara Lordi, gathered outside St Giles\u2019 this morning for a pop-up performance, tuning up for their gigs on 1 January.  &#13;&#13;With performances spanning music, spoken word, and family events, First Footin\u2019 2026 invites audiences to cross the threshold into a new year surrounded by creativity, friendship, and shared celebration, from the streets of Grassmarket to the atmospheric spaces of St Giles\u2019 and Greyfriars Kirk.  &#13;Made possible with funding from the Scottish Government Festivals EXPO Fund through Creative Scotland, the event forms part of Edinburgh\u2019s Hogmanay\u2019s four-day programme, which also includes the Torchlight Procession on 29 December, the Night Afore Concert on 30 December headlined by Peat &amp; Diesel, and the world-famous Street Party and Midnight Moment fireworks on Hogmanay itself, along with the flagship Concert in the Gardens, this year headlined by Grammy Award-winning Wet Leg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Celebrations\u00a0extend into\u00a0the evening\u00a0with\u00a0a\u00a0programme\u00a0of great live music in intimate venues\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>First\u00a0Footin\u2019 Sessions with\u00a0Cold Town Beer<\/strong>,\u00a0taking place\u00a0in city\u00a0centre\u00a0pubs\u00a0Cold Town House, The Black Bull, The Huxley, Element, Copper Blossom, Boozy Cow and Auld Hundred\u00a0hosting a series of\u00a0performances. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Highlights include\u00a02025\u2019s\u00a0Sound of Young Scotland\u00a0winner\u00a0<strong>Alice Faye, <\/strong>performing\u00a0at\u00a0<strong>Copper Blossom<\/strong>\u00a0at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm,\u00a0<strong>Pictish\u00a0Trail (Solo) at Cold\u00a0Town House\u00a0<\/strong>plus\u00a0<strong>Eamonn Coyne\u00a0and\u00a0Tom Oakes<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0<strong>The Black Bull<\/strong>\u00a0from 6-9pm<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Ciaran Ryan\u00a0and Paul\u00a0Godray\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0<strong>Auld Hundred<\/strong>\u00a0from6-9pm, giving audiences the chance to discover emerging and established Scottish talent. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Alongside the launch of live streaming, full set times for all First\u00a0Footin\u2019 events have now been announced, allowing audiences to plan their New Year\u2019s Day music trail in advance.
