Weston McKennie was only at Leeds for six months of the 2022\/23 campaign, but he still managed to make himself very unpopular in that space of time. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The United States international left Elland Road<\/a> as the pantomime villain after Leeds<\/a> were relegated at the end of that season, as he appeared thoroughly disinterested and also never looked fit enough to deliver.<\/p>\n

Weston McKennie<\/a> even pointed blame at the weather<\/a> for his dismal spell in Yorkshire, which sums it up.<\/p>\n

Now, a story from Tuttosport<\/a> in Italy suggests the American could once again play at Elland Road.<\/p>\n

The Italian news outlet now state that the 27-year-old is tempted by a return to the Premier League this winter, and his agents are currently exploring opportunities. <\/p>\n

McKennie sees his contract with Juventus expire at the end of the season, so the Italian giants will lose him for nothing unless they find a buyer in January, or agree a new deal with the midfielder.<\/p>\n

Tuttosport add that Juventus already have a predetermined option to renew his deal at an annual salary of \u20ac3.6m (\u00a33.2m) plus bonuses running until 2029 \u2013 and a stay in Turin is his first choice.<\/p>\n

However, Technical Director Damien Comolli must decide whether to proceed with that arrangement, which Cristiano Giuntoli had negotiated last year.<\/p>\n

No specific Premier League sides are named as potential buyers for McKennie, but it is seemingly an option being seriously considered by the man born in Washington as Juventus ponder over a new contract.<\/p>\n

McKennie was critical of the area<\/a> when asked to discuss his time at Leeds, telling CBS Sports back in December 2024: \u201cOkay I will say this, Leeds as a club, the people within the club I liked. The city itself and the surroundings was a little bit hard. It was always grey, I had a sunlight window in my house and there was never any sun coming through.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo Sunday roast, no nothing. I was alone. My area was like no area, nothing around. I went up to see Harry Potter world which was like an hour away. That\u2019s it, that\u2019s all I did, and golf.\u201d<\/p>\n

There were surely many things McKennie could have done to change his situation, but just like on the pitch, he put little effort into doing so. <\/p>\n
