A barr chain backed by England stars including cricket captain Ben Stokes has collapsed into administration – putting ALL its venues at risk. Sixes, which runs cricket-based venues including in Birmingham, has fallen into administration.<\/p>\n
Sixes runs 16 cricket-themed entertainment venues across England. The chain, which has a bar in Birmingham<\/a> at the Mailbox, announced on Friday it has entered administration following \u201cchallenging\u201d recent trading.<\/p>\n The hospitality business will immediately shut its site in Southampton as a result. All other venues will continue to operate as it seeks a potential rescue deal, honouring its future bookings, it added.<\/p>\n READ MORE People with driveways urged to spend \u00a330 after UK household earns \u00a34,300<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The group said it has a core of strongly performing sites but has seen others struggle in the face of fierce competition and \u201creduced consumer spending\u201d.<\/p>\n Tony Wright, joint administrator and partner at FRP, said: \u201cSixes has built a strong brand in the social entertainment space with its unique venues proving very popular with customers.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile some locations have struggled in an increasingly competitive market, the business has significant potential, and we\u2019re encouraged by the early interest we\u2019ve received from parties interested in acquiring the brand and its strongest-performing sites.<\/p>\n \u201cOur priority is to secure the best outcome for the business and its stakeholders while ensuring customers can continue to enjoy their bookings through the Christmas<\/a> period and beyond.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re confident that with the right investment and focus, Sixes can build on its core strengths.\u201d<\/p>\n Sixes rivals the likes of Flight Club and Golf Fang in Birmingham, which are activity based bars centred around darts and golf respectively.<\/p>\n The Mailbox also boasts an Everyman Cinema complex, as well as the likes of Nando’s, Zizzi, Bar Estilo, Black Sheep Coffee, Aluna, Medicine Bakery and Gas Street Social.<\/p>\n
