Callum Simpson<\/a> and Troy Williamson<\/a> both successfully made the 168-pound super middleweight limit ahead of their British, Commonwealth and European title fight Saturday<\/a> night at Leeds\u2019 First Direct Arena. The event will be broadcast on BBC 3.
Simpson will be making the first defence of the title he won by stopping Italy\u2019s Ivan Zucco <\/a>in June. He scaled 167 pounds, 11 ounces. Williamson, the English titleholder, weighed 167 pounds, 6 ounces.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s undercard was hit by two major late withdrawals.<\/p>\n

First, Liverpool\u2019s Frankie Stringer was ruled out of his fight against Levi Giles when a pre-fight medical examination revealed an issue that will require further investigation.<\/p>\n

Then, America\u2019s Blair Cobbs pulled out of his welterweight fight with unbeaten Elliot Whale citing illness.<\/p>\n

In a statement, BOXXER provided details of the changes to the show;<\/p>\n

\u201cThe health and safety of fighters remain BOXXER\u2019s highest priority. BOXXER has worked diligently to provide fans with the strongest possible fight card under the circumstances.<\/p>\n

\u201cLevi Giles will remain on the card, and Ashlee Eales will step in to face Elliot Whale.\u201d<\/p>\n

A revised running order showed that Giles will now face Jahfius Faure, although they didn\u2019t appear at Friday\u2019s weigh in.<\/p>\n

Eales (11-1, 3 KOs) had been due to box Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards on the prelims but his fight with Whale will now act as chief support.<\/p>\n
